Jade Meadow III

Project Overview

Jade Meadow III is a 300 megawatt solar project planned in Garrett County, MD, near the town of Westernport, and located on reclaimed coal mine land.

The project is expected to begin construction in 2026, and reach commercial operations in the second half of 2027. Jade Meadow III is the largest solar project to be proposed in the state of Maryland to date and will provide meaningful local tax revenue, economic development, and payments to landowners.

 NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT HEARING

 A public comment hearing in the above-entitled matter is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., via virtual meeting, concerning Jade Meadow III LLC’s application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Maryland Public Service Commission.

The hearing will include a presentation by the Applicant, followed by a brief statement by the Department of Natural Resources, Power Plant Research Program (PPRP), the Maryland Office of People’s Counsel (OPC), and the Technical Staff of the Public Service Commission of Maryland (Staff) as to their respective roles in the case.

NOTICE OF PRE-HEARING CONFERENCE

A pre-hearing conference in the above-entitled matter is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., via virtual platform, concerning Jade Meadow III LLC’s application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Maryland Public Service Commission.

Anyone wishing to observe the live stream of the hearing may do so via the Public Utility Law Judge Division’s YouTube Channel, https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP. Any questions about the hearing should be directed to psc.pulj@gmail.com. At the pre-hearing conference, any preliminary matters will be discussed, including consideration of any petitions to intervene that have been filed, and the establishment of a procedural schedule.
